Just saw the Quo at Kelvingrove band stand in Glasgow, i was supporting someone go, as thats my job. I liked Quo when i was younger ,born in '73, but dont think i ever bought any of theor albums. By tje time i was buying albums id moved on a little in my music tastes. Anyway, back to the gig.....it was bloody brilliant. Rossi mentioned how cold it was in Scotland, even though the sun had been out all day, and said he was wearing thermal packs on his front amd back, and was starting to.over heat. I dont think ive ever seen a tighter band. This gave the music so much dynamism. It was rocking, and having supported this person for 5 years, i now knew all the words to the songs. we started off at he peripherals, and ended up at the front, waving a happy birthday for yesterday sugn, amd getting some nice acknowledhement from Francis. It was an hour and half of music mastery, with Rossi shaking his hands after each song from about the half way point, to me seemingly suffering from some kind of arthritus, but soldiering on. What a legend, what a band, im really pleased i saw them, and in a fairly intimate venue. Superb, well done the Quo... :))

Thanks for the correction. That was my interpretation of events as a 17 year old, nearly 40 years ago. Looks like I was wrong. In the grand scheme of life I guess it doesn’t matter too much though does it…

Thanks for your comments 👍

Staffordshire Bingley Hall for me on that "farewell" tour. No other "guests", just about 3 hours of Quo. Piledriver favourite album for me as blues/Quo combo. Head banger back then (which Quo inspired) but basically Sabbath, Purple, Tull back then. Best couple of quid I ever spent. 😁

Well yes I was at that gig as well ... only went because it was their last 😂🤣😂🤣 .
Two main memories ... (if my memories are correct!)
1) Gary Glitter climbing to the top of the lighting rig and being surprisingly good (little did we know then)
2) The between band DJ trying to get everyone to sing along to Joan Jett .... let me hear you sing ... I love Rock n Roll .. your turn . The crowds respond to a man “F**k off” ... Still makes me giggle all these years later.
Oh yes and my mate drove in his dads Austin Princess !
