In reply to <a href="https://musicintheattic.co.uk/gig-anniversaries-october/#comment-10433">Dave Davies</a>.

It doesn't matter whether you still have the tickets (or any other 'evidence' for that matter) - as long as you still have the MEMORIES that's all that counts and nobody can take those away from you! You've seen some great bands which I would have loved to have seen - especially Queen with Freddie - but I was too young and didn't start 'gigging' until 1983 when I was 15.

Thanks for your kind words. Happy New Year!

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry! Went to literally hundreds of concerts in the 70’s, partly because of wanting to see certain groups - Led Zeppelin, Mott The Hoople, Queen, Be Bop Deluxe - and partly because I got free tickets! Let me explain, whilst at Liverpool Uni I volunteered to take photos for the Guild Gazette, so they would pay for my ticket and film. Sadly I handed the film over and never kept a single ticket stub! Not only that but only a handful of pictures were ever published. I do have the negatives for a Queen concert, Kiki Dee, John Miles, Barclay James Harvest, Steve Harley and couple of others. Some highlights for me were seeing Queen supporting Mott The Hoople, Tom Petty supporting Nils Lofgren and a couple of fantastic concerts by Thin Lizzy, all at the Liverpool Empire. I do recall in my final year (1977) my tutor sitting me down and saying more work and less concerts!

This is a great website, brings back lots of memories, mostly good!
