Glasto Goodness Part 5 – 2002

I went to Glastonbury for 20 years between 1997 and 2017, amazingly missing out on tickets just once (2005 looked shit anyway lol!)

I’ve managed to piece together every programme, mini guide, ticket and mud-spattered wristband that’s been hidden away in boxes up in my attic for years (see them all here!) Sadly my addled old brain is incapable of piecing together enough memories to write a review for each year so here’s some great footage and photos I have found from Glastonbury 2002 (the year the new ‘super fence’ went up)

My artefacts

My programme, mini-guide and ticket stub from Glastonbury 2002
(found everything apart from my grubby wristband for this year!)

The Poster

The poster – Glastonbury 2002 (can’t find a lineup poster for this year)

Some video highlights:

QOTSA with Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl making a guest appearance on drums – superb! Glastonbury 2002
The brilliant Faithless get the ‘sunset set’ at Glastonbury 2002
Another highlight from my 20 years at Glasto, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters performing Comfortably Numb on the Pyramid Stage – an early evening warm up for Sunday headliner Rod Stewart (FFS!) Needless to stay we didn’t stick around after this and headed off to watch Air on the Other Stage
Stone Roses front man Ian Brown at Glasto 2002. We bumped into him wandering around the festival site later that afternoon and said hello. Little did I know I’d be living around the corner from him 9 years later! Yes he sings out of tune but who cares?! Love his solo albums..
Soul legend Isaac Hayes performing his 1972 hit Shaft at Glastonbury 2002. Perfection…
Another highlight. The Dandy Warhols at Glastonbury 2002
French duo Air, Sunday headliner on the Other Stage at Glastonbury 2002
Orbital headlining The Other Stage on Saturday night – Glastonbury 2002
Some great amateur footage from Glastonbury 2002 (including sunrise at the stone circle)
