Glasto Goodness Part 10 – 2009

I went to Glastonbury for 20 years between 1997 and 2017, amazingly missing out on tickets just once (the rivers of mud festival in 2005!)

I’ve managed to piece together every programme, mini guide, ticket and mud-spattered wristband that’s been hidden away in boxes up in my attic for years (see them all here!) Sadly my addled old brain is incapable of piecing together enough memories to write a review for each year so here’s some great footage and photos I have found from Glastonbury 2009. This was the year I finally got to see Neil Young and Crosby, Stills and Nash, sadly not all at the same time. ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen headlined the Pyramid on Saturday night but we chose to watch the Stereo MCs over at The Glade instead. Blur returned to headline Sunday night, the first time they’d played Glasto since 1998 but we watched the Prodigy on the Other Stage instead! This was also the year when news of Michael Jackson’s death filtered around the site on Thursday night and it took us a little while to realise this wasn’t just another ‘Glastonbury Rumour’. Made for quite a surreal night as his music was literally being played everywhere…

Some Photo Memories:

Sometimes the market areas at Glastonbury are as entertaining as the bands. These folks enjoying Nirvana by Caribbean food stall!
