I went to Glastonbury for 20 years between 1997 and 2017, amazingly missing out on tickets just once (the rivers of mud festival in 2005!)
I’ve managed to piece together every programme, mini guide, ticket and mud-spattered wristband that’s been hidden away in boxes up in my attic for years (see them all here!) Sadly my addled old brain is incapable of piecing together enough memories to write a review for each year so here’s some great footage and photos I have found from Glastonbury 2013.
After a break in 2012 (the year of the London Olympics) this was the year the Rolling Stones finally headlined Glastonbury and played a 2 hour set on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night. Pretty good going for a bunch of pensioners! Other highlights were Portishead headlining the Other Stage on Friday (missed the Arctic Monkeys for them but still well worth it), Primal Scream, Editors (always a Glasto highlight), the legendary John Lydon with Public Image Limited, Johnny Marr in the John Peel tent and ‘local hero’ Jake Bugg (at least for those of of us who grew up in Clifton, Nottingham and who support Notts County!) playing on the Pyramid Stage just 2 years after making his Glasto debut on the ‘BBC Introducing’ stage in 2011.
This was probably the strongest Glastonbury lineup for a long time…
